Dr. Alex Ehrler

Alex Ehrler has been a board member of PDTec AG since 2007.
During his computer science studies at the University of Karlsruhe, he focused on “Information Systems Engineering”. Following his diploma thesis, he worked for three years at SAP AG as a software developer in the area of PLM New Application Development. In 2001, he moved to what was then PDTec GmbH as Chief Architect Internet Solutions. There he designed the information system platform ice.NET. As part of his international research activities, he completed his doctorate in 2004 on the subject of “Semantic standards and software components”. He did this at the Institute for Computer Applications in Planning and Design (RPK) at the University of Karlsruhe.

Michael S. Murgai

Michael Sanjay Murgai has been a member of the Management Board of PDTec AG since June 15, 2023. From 1991 to 1997 he studied mechanical engineering at the University of Karlsruhe. After graduating with a degree in engineering, he initially worked as a leading market analyst in the fields of CAx and PDM/PLM. He published his market research results in the leading trade magazine at the time, eDM-Report. During this time, Michael became very familiar with the international CAx and PDM/PLM-related provider and user market. In 2008, Michael decided to contribute his industry know-how to the medium-sized German PLM solution provider CONTACT Software. There he held various management positions as an authorized signatory and member of the management board. In particular, he was responsible for the entire international business. As part of the international positioning, he founded numerous companies and developed these companies very successfully as managing director, including CONTACT Software Schweiz AG and the joint venture between Zuken Incorporation (Japan) and CONTACT. Michael is involved in various initiatives and working groups. For example, he has been a core team member of the “Code of PLM Openness” ( www.prostep.org/cpo ) since 2012, promoting the openness of IT solutions and IT architectures.

Dr. Anna Wasmer

As a co-founder, Anna has been a member of the management board of PDTec since 1999, initially in PDTec GmbH and since its conversion to an AG in 2007.
After studying computer science at the University of Karlsruhe, Anna was a research assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Information and Data Processing (IITB). Anna then worked at the Institute for Computer Applications in Planning and Design at the University of Karlsruhe. In 1993 she moved to the TU Darmstadt to the newly founded Institute for Data Processing in Design (DiK) under the direction of Prof. Anderl. There she received her doctorate in 1997 in the field of mapping product models. Anna then worked as PDM Consulting Manager at InterData Access, Inc. and after its acquisition at Spatial Technology, Inc.

Anna was a member of several working groups in ISO, VDA/ProSTEP, AIAG and SASIG and co-chair of the AIAG working groups Technical Data Package Exchange (XMTD) and PDM. She was honored by the AIAG with an Outstanding Achievement Award in 2004.

Director Professional Services

Roland Friedrich

Roland has more than 30 years of experience in the automotive industry and IT, particularly in the areas of virtual engineering, CAD and PDM systems. He is responsible for the Professional Services division at PDTec.

Roland started at EDAG in 1993 with a dual degree in mechanical engineering. There he managed projects in robot simulation, virtual reality and IT support for manufacturing and product development. In 2007, he established and led the team for tools and methods for virtual development and integrated standards for CAD design and the use of PDM tools. From 2011 to 2015, he was Managing Director of EngRoTec Methoden GmbH. In this role, he supported PDM implementation projects and developed CAD methods.

As Principal Consultant, Product Owner and Scrum Master, Roland has been working at PDTec since 2015 with a focus on the implementation of PDM systems and method development. Since 2023, Roland has been leading international software implementation projects, project management and customer support as Director Professional Services. He has also been active in teaching for several years and is a member of the Virtual Engineering examination board at DHBW Mosbach.

Director Product Management

Juergen Kunz

Juergen is responsible for product management at PDTec AG. After studying mechanical engineering at the University of Karlsruhe, he began his career as a graduate engineer at the Institute for Computer Applications in Planning and Design (RPK).

In 1998, he moved to Eigner und Partner, where he initially worked as a project manager. He later took over responsibility for release management and then worked as a product manager. Through company acquisitions, Juergen moved to Agile and finally to Oracle. At Oracle, he most recently headed product management for the PLM product Agile e6 and was also responsible for the product “Product Development” in the global team for cloud PLM product management. This product comprised the core areas of item, document and parts list management as well as change management.

In 2022, Juergen moved to PROCAD GmbH, which subsequently became part of Revalize Software. Here he was responsible for product management for the PLM division.

Since October 1, 2024, Juergen has been working as Director Product Management at PDTec AG and heads the Product Management department.

Director Software Development

Lukasz Stefanek

Łukasz began his IT career while still a student, working on small commercial projects. He gained his first experience as a software developer on projects for time recording and billing systems.
In 2005, he graduated from the Gdansk University of Technology with a master’s degree in computer science and specialized in multimedia technologies. In the same year, he joined PDTec, where he worked in the PDM team on various customer projects using different technologies and programming languages. In this role, he was able to expand his programming skills and expertise extensively. His areas of specialization were PDM/PLM systems and data exchange processes. Over time, he also expanded his area of responsibility and was actively involved in team and product management (PDMconnect). He led several grassroots initiatives to improve company processes, particularly in the area of software development.
In 2021, he joined the management of the Polish subsidiary PDTec Sp. z o.o. and took on further responsibilities in the areas of software development and company management. Since the end of 2024, Łukasz has played an important role in the global management team and supports the positive development of PDTec AG with his profound expertise.
