The successful global introduction of a software solution for Simulation Process & Data Management (SPDM) requires a structured approach that is adapted to the continuous change of influencing variables and dependencies. Thanks to its high level of integration capability into existing and future IT landscapes as well as the automation and digitalization of CAE processes, SimData Manager significantly reduces manual effort at Brose. The result is significantly more free capacity for value-adding activities, such as the ability to innovate at Brose. SimData Manager is characterized by its particular openness, integration capability and flexibility, which is important to ensure the adaptation of CAE processes to new technologies and cross-team collaboration. SimData Manager is now used globally as part of the partnership between Brose and PDTec. One focus is on creating appropriate workflows for collaboration and data management. The structured storage of all CAE-relevant documents and data in a central data management system is an enormously important step in Brose’s digitalization offensive. Close collaboration and a common basis for all calculation processes (single source of truth) is an important prerequisite for success, especially for globally active development teams. The harmonization of proven methods, as well as the introduction of future technologies (keyword artificial intelligence), has been a decision criterion for SPDM with SimData Manager from the very beginning.
