Bertrandt is a global engineering supplier with extensive expertise in the automotive, aerospace and mechanical engineering sectors. One of the company’s particular focuses is on the future topics of digitalisation, e-mobility and autonomous systems.
The ever-increasing product complexity in combination with global development projects meant that Bertrandt needed a powerful engineering collaboration solution for the efficient cooperation of all parties involved. The objectives included avoiding redundancies, providing up-to-date information and documents in the right place at the right time, centralised management of CAD and associated metadata as well as product structures. By reducing errors and standardising procedures and guidelines in this way, the aim was to increase process transparency and facilitate audits.
In 2019, Bertrandt opted for the out-of-the-box solution CAD Portal from PDTec. CAD Portal now acts as a single source of truth for CAD and Office documents as well as project data within the product development processes of the global engineering supplier.
