Research
For PDTec, research is part of the company strategy. Not only to constantly test and improve its own software products against the state of the art, but also to make cutting-edge technologies more robust for day-to-day use.
Partnerships in research
PDTec has been involved in publicly funded research projects for many years, both nationally and internationally. In addition to research and development, the company’s activities also focus on the standardization of existing results. PDTec covers a wide range of technological and industrial areas in various sectors such as automotive, aerospace, shipping, etc.
Smart Systems Engineering (SmartSE)
PDTec AG is a member of the project group Smart Systems Engineering of Prostep IVIP.
Task
The SmartSE project group works together with a group of almost 30 companies and research institutions to develop application-oriented concepts for overcoming common systems engineering challenges. To this end, SmartSE develops recommendations for process design, promotes technical standards for the cooperative development of complex, mechatronic systems and supports the creation of transparency regarding systems engineering objects within and across companies.
Outlook for 2022
In 2022, SmartSE will start a new fifth phase of the project. With the mission “Collaborative development and validation of complex products through simulation along a multi-tier supply chain”, the knowledge gained from phases I-IV on bilateral cooperation between two partners will be considered from the perspective of cooperation between several partners. Core topics will be: simulation (process) quality, dealing with different levels of abstraction when using simulation, the interaction of systems engineering and agile methods as well as the extensions of the V-model to deal with systems in environments and with additional life cycle phases.
